Overall Body Trim vs Simple Body Trim: Choosing a Cat Grooming Trim
How an overall body trim and a simple body trim differ, which cat coats suit each one, and how to care for a freshly trimmed coat at home.

Our Fur Trimming Package offers two kinds of cat grooming trim: an overall body trim or a simple body trim. Both come with a shower and nail, ear and paw care, and both start from RM50 per cat. This guide explains how the two differ, which coats tend to suit each one, and how to look after a trimmed coat at home.
What the Fur Trimming Package Includes
The Fur Trimming Package is one of three packages on our menu, alongside the Basic Grooming Package from RM10 and the Regular Grooming Package from RM40. You can compare all three in our grooming packages.
Included in every trim
- Your choice of overall body trim or simple body trim
- A full shower and dry
- Nail trim, ear cleaning and paw cleaning
Starting price, confirmed per cat
RM50 is a starting price per cat. We settle the final price with you on WhatsApp once we know your cat's coat length, coat condition, size and temperament.

Overall Body Trim
An overall body trim shortens the coat across the body. It is the larger of the two trims and changes how your cat looks and feels more noticeably.
Which coats it tends to suit
- Long, thick coats that tangle quickly in hot, humid weather
- Coats with tangles spread across the body rather than in one or two spots
- Owners who find daily brushing of a long coat hard to keep up
What to expect
A shorter coat is easier to brush, dries faster after a cat bath and collects less loose fur. Some cats take a little time to get used to the new feeling. The groomer will talk through the length with you before starting.
Simple Body Trim
A simple body trim is the lighter option. Rather than shortening the whole coat, it tidies the coat and focuses on the areas that tend to tangle or get dirty.
Which coats it tends to suit
- Medium and long coats that are mostly in good condition
- Cats with tangles only in a few places, such as behind the ears, under the arms or around the back legs
- Owners who want to keep most of their cat's coat length
What to expect
Your cat will look much like before, just tidier. A simple body trim between brushing sessions can help stop small problem areas from becoming large tangles.
How to Choose Between the Two
If you are not sure, you do not need to decide alone. Send us a photo of your cat's coat on WhatsApp and tell us how often you brush at home. We will suggest the trim that fits.
Questions to ask yourself
- Are the tangles all over, or only in a few places?
- Can you brush your cat most days, or only now and then?
- Do you want to keep the coat long, or would a shorter coat be easier?
What to tell us before a trim
- A recent photo of your cat's coat, ideally showing the back and belly
- Where the tangles are and how long they have been there
- Whether your cat has been trimmed before, and how it reacted to clippers
- Any skin condition or medication your vet has mentioned
These details help us choose the right trim, confirm the price and plan enough time, so your cat is not rushed.
Heavily matted coats
When a coat is very matted, combing it out can be uncomfortable for the cat, so trimming is usually the kinder choice. Tell us about heavy matting before the visit so we can plan time for it. If the skin underneath looks sore, red or broken, please check with your vet first.

Aftercare at Home
A trimmed coat is easier to look after, but it still needs a little attention to stay that way.
The first few days
Give your cat a quiet space to settle. Many cats spend extra time grooming themselves after a trim. Keep the home at a comfortable temperature and avoid strong direct air from fans or air-conditioning blowing on your cat.
Brushing a trimmed coat
Brush a few times a week with a soft brush or rubber mitt, and use a wide-toothed comb on the areas that tangled before. Regular light brushing keeps the coat tidy until the next visit.
When to check with your vet
If you notice redness, scratching at one spot, or anything that looks like irritation after a groom, please check with your vet.
Booking a trim
A deposit confirms the slot, and the address of our one salon is shared when you book. We do not offer pick-up or home grooming. Owners travel in from nearby areas, including cat owners from Kajang, cat owners from Cyberjaya and cat owners from Seremban.
Send us a photo of your cat's coat and we will suggest the right trim.
