Preparing Your Cat for Its First Cat Grooming Visit
Carrier practice, what to tell the groomer, and how booking and the deposit work, so you and your cat are ready for a first cat grooming visit.

A first cat grooming visit is new for your cat and often new for you too. Cats notice changes in routine, so a little preparation in the days before helps the appointment run more smoothly. This guide covers carrier practice, what to tell the groomer, and how booking works with us, step by step.
Start With Carrier Practice
For many cats, the carrier is the hardest part of the day. If the carrier only comes out for trips, your cat quickly learns what it means. A few days of practice can make that first step calmer.

Leave the carrier out at home
Put the carrier in a room your cat already likes, with the door open. Place a soft towel or a piece of your clothing inside. Let your cat explore it at its own pace, without pushing it in.
Make the carrier a normal place
Drop a treat or a favourite toy inside now and then. Some owners feed a meal next to the carrier, then just inside the door. The aim is for the carrier to feel like part of the furniture.
Practise short trips
Close the door for a few seconds, then open it again. Later, lift the carrier and walk around the house, or sit in the car without driving. Short, uneventful practice runs teach your cat that the carrier does not always lead somewhere new.
What to Tell the Groomer
The groomer can only plan for what they know. Sharing a few details on WhatsApp before the visit helps us choose the right package, confirm the price and plan enough time for your cat.
Coat and grooming history
- Breed or coat length, with a recent photo if possible
- Any tangles or mats you have noticed, and where they are
- Whether your cat has been bathed or trimmed before
- How often you brush at home
Behaviour and handling
Tell us honestly how your cat reacts to being held, having its paws touched, or hearing running water. A cat that hides, hisses or scratches is not a "bad" cat; it simply helps us know when to slow down or take breaks.
Health notes
Let us know about anything your vet has mentioned, such as a skin condition, a recent wound, fleas or any medication. For skin problems, wounds, parasites or questions about sedation, please check with your vet before booking. A groomer is not a vet and cannot diagnose or treat these.
Choosing a Package for the First Visit
For a first visit, many owners start simple. You can see every option in our grooming packages, all priced per cat as starting prices.
Basic Grooming Package from RM10
Nail trim, ear cleaning and paw cleaning, with no bath. A short, simple visit can be a gentle introduction to the salon.
Regular Grooming Package from RM40
A full shower plus nail, ear and paw care. A good choice if your cat's coat needs a proper cat bath.
Fur Trimming Package from RM50
An overall body trim or a simple body trim, plus a shower and nail, ear and paw care. Useful for long coats or coats that have started to tangle.

How Booking and the Deposit Work
Booking is done on WhatsApp. It takes a few messages and you will know the price and time before you leave home.
Step 1: Send us your cat's details
Tell us the package you are interested in, your cat's coat type, and anything from the list above. A photo helps a lot.
Step 2: We confirm the price
Our prices are starting prices per cat. Once we know your cat's coat, size and temperament, we confirm the final price on WhatsApp.
Step 3: Pay the deposit to confirm the slot
A deposit confirms your slot. Once it is received, the time is held for your cat and we share the salon address.
Step 4: Bring your cat in
We have one salon and do not offer pick-up or home grooming. Cat owners travel in from nearby areas, including cat owners from Subang Jaya, cat owners from Puchong and cat owners from Setia Alam.
On the Day of the Visit
Before you leave
- Bring your cat in a secure, closed carrier
- Line the carrier with a towel in case of accidents on the way
- Bring your phone so we can reach you on WhatsApp
- Allow time for traffic so you are not rushing
At the salon
When you arrive, keep your cat in the carrier until the groomer is ready. Tell the groomer anything that has changed since your WhatsApp message, such as a new tangle or a scratch you noticed that morning. If the groomer sees your cat needs a break, they will pause before carrying on.
After the groom
Once home, give your cat a quiet space and let it settle on its own terms. Some cats want attention straight away; others prefer to hide and groom themselves for a while. Both are normal.
Tell us about your cat and we will help you pick a package for the first visit.
Book Grooming SlotSummary
A first cat grooming visit goes more smoothly with a little preparation: practise with the carrier, share your cat's coat, behaviour and health notes, and book on WhatsApp so the price is confirmed and the slot is held with a deposit. For any health concerns, check with your vet first.
